25/01/06 - Hello and Happy New Year and thanks to everyone who supported us in 2005!! Next gig we have confirmed for 2006 has been added to the gigs page but keep checking back as we have some others in the pipeline!

24/10/05 - Another New gig date has been added to the gigs page it's at the Buffalo Bar, London check Gigs page for further details. Also cheers to everyone who texted in for us on Sun night, we didn't win so it must of been a fix!! 

20/10/05 - New gig date for nxt fri added to the gigs page. Other band on the bill is The Children. 

17/10/05 - Calling all Fans of The Second Floor! - The band will be on Clint Boon's Radio Rescue this sun 23rd oct between 7pm and 9pm you can listen on 96.2fm The Revolution or online at www.therevolutiononline.co.uk. where Clint will be playing tunes off our latest demo for a chance to play The Heywood gig on the 27th of Oct with Puressence, The Children, Bingo Jesus. All you have to do is listen to the show and txt in the name 'The second Floor' between 7 and 9pm this sun! 

13/10/05 - The Second Floor were interviewed and played their demo on BBC GMR 95.1 Michelle After Midnight the other week, And this Sun between 7pm and 11pm listen to Clint Boon on 96.2fm The Revolution or online at www.therevolutiononline.co.uk. where Clint will be playing tunes off our latest demo and there will be a txt vote or something. Few gigs in the pipeline aswell so keep checking gigs for details.

18/09/05 - Big thanks to everyone who came down to The Second Floor's gig at the Water Rats in London on Fri night. Good stuff! The band are playing this sunday (25th) at the Night & Day Oldham st Manchester doors open at 7pm and the band is on stage at 7.30 sharp so make sure you get down there early. Also don't forget you can listen to The Second Floor now by clicking on the music link where they have Mp3s of Tremolo Heart, Night Vision, Dangerous Analysis and Cats and Taxis. 

18/09/05 - The Second Floor have a couple gigs lined up for In The City - Sat 1st Oct at Dry bar on stage 8pm and sun 2nd Oct the Castle Oldham st 50 yards up the road from Dry bar at 6.45pm full details on the gigs page. 

06/09/05 - A Flyer for cheaper entrance to the AC30 gig at the Water Rats in London on fri 16th sept can now be downloaded from the bottom of the gigs page aswell as a flyer for the next manchester gig at the Night & Day on Sept 25th. 

04/09/05 - We've sorted three new dates out, starting with a trip to london on friday 16th. Club Ac30 at the Water Rats Kings Cross will be the venue, the band due to play at 10pm. If you don't fancy the trip down to the big smoke, then we're back in manc on sunday 25th at Night & Day.  Take note folks that we'll be on at 8pm prompt!!!!! It's £7 on the door, or £5 if you download the ticket at the bottom of the gigs page. Other bands on that night will be Pure Reason Revolution, 10 Acre and Studio Monkeys.

25/08/05 - The Website has been updated and now features a Music section. Click on the link and you'll get to listen to our demo for free. If you like what you hear 'Tremolo Heart' is still available to buy @ Picadilly Records. We've also got some top gigs in the pipeline, so if you missed out at Big Hands keep on posting and as soon as they're confirmed, we'll let you know!!!

15/08/05 - Steve Lamacq plays Tremolo Heart on Radio 1's 'Lamacq Live!'

12/08/05 - Night Vision is played for the first time on air. Clint Boon hosting his show on The Revolution 96.2fm says 'this'll blow the cobwebs out of your sweed!!!!'.

20/07/05 - The Band have been asked to support The Cardinals on Wednesday 10th August at Big Hands.  Its a great venue, it'll be a great night, so make sure you're there!!!

22/02/05 - Unfortunately Saturdays gig in Eccles has been cancelled due to other bands pulling out. The gig is to be rescheduled...... so keep loging on to check for the confirmed date.

13/02/05 - Date confirmed to play on Sat 26th February, at No.8 The Polygon, in Eccles, check Gigs for further info.  The Band are also due to go into studio over the next few weeks, so new demo's will be available shortly.

9/8/04 - Radio station BBC GMR 95.1 & 104.6FM will be playing a tune off our new demo on wednesday night the 11th Aug.The shows on between 7-10pm and our tune will be played between 9-10pm.

15/04/04 - Next wed (21st) the Transit tour will be kickin off at The Slaughter House Liverpool followed by Late room Manchester on the 22nd band on stage at 10pm and The Grapes in Sheffield on the 25th.

16/02/04 - A mini tour has been arranged for The Second Floor. It kicks off in April with two other bands on the same bill one from Sheffield and one from Liverpool the venues the bands will be playing at are The Late Room in Manchester, The Zanzibar in Liverpool and The Grapes in Sheffield dates, lineup and more info will be posted shortly.

16/02/04 - Another gig for the March period has been added Wednesday the 31st March at The Dry bar.

29/02/04 - The band have confirmed gigs for the febuary and March period and are looking to play London in the near future. Keep an eye on the gig news for details.

03/11/03 - Thanks to all who showed up for the Life Cafe gig last month, the setlist was the same as for the most recent Dry Bar gig. The gig was reviewed by Cassia Baldock of the BBC, a copy of this review can be seen in the Reviews section and can also be found on the BBC Manchester website (along with a pic of the band) at www.bbc.co.uk/manchester/music/2003/10/22/second_floor_review.shtml . Thanks to Roy for informing me of the review, Cassia for a top review and to Crosby for emailing me a copy. No new future gigs to confirm yet, just the already confirmed Life Cafe date later this month.

08/10/03 - Site Update. A Reviews section has been added to the website. As with the Memorabilia section, if anyone finds any more reviews, please email them in, they will be greatly appreciated.

30/09/03 - After the successful Dry Bar gig earlier this month, the band were present at the prestigious In The Music event distributing CD copies of the tracks cut recently in the studio. Set list for the gig was: 1-The Car Ride, 2-Sound Escape, 3-Man Made Souls, 4-I Ain't Old, 5-The Full Recovery, 6- The Thing About The Dawn. Two more dates have been confirmed for the Life Cafe, check Gig News for details.

28/08/03 - Following the successful recent gigs at the Dry Bar and the Roadhouse, the band headed back into the studio last Thursday to lay down a couple of tracks to CD. These should be available at the September Dry Bar gig, check Gig News for details. The setlist for the July 9th Dry Bar gig was: 1-The Car Ride, 2-Sound Escape, 3-Man Made Souls, 4-The Thing About The Dawn, 5-The Undead Son. At the recent Roadhouse gig, the band reintroduced I Ain't Old into the setlist, one of the tracks they recorded last week. The full Roadhouse setlist was: 1- The Car Ride, 2-Sound Escape, 3-Man Made Souls, 4-I Ain't Old, 5-The Full Recovery, 6-The Thing About The Dawn. A flyer for this gig has been added to the Memorabilia section.

06/06/03 - Change to gig date and new gig. The Roadhouse date for the 11th July has been changed to the 1st August to avoid clashing with the MOVE festival. A gig for the 9th of July at the Dry Bar has now been added, running just before the festival.

23/05/03 - Steve Lamacq plays The Second Floor! Following Nolan's recent interview appearance on St. Helens College Radio, the band got their first nationwide airplay today as legendary DJ Steve Lamacq played The Thing About The Dawn on his show on BBC Radio 6. Steve, covering for Liz Kershaw, played the track between 2 and 3pm today, during the part of the programme where Steve and his assistants play and discuss releases by the best currently unsigned acts. 19/05/03 - Thanks to all who turned out for the Life Cafe gig on the 15th, both band and audience seemed to agree that the gig was their best yet. The setlist was: 1-The Car Ride, 2-Sound Escape, 3-Man Made Souls, 4-The Thing About The Dawn, 5-The Undead Son. A gig at Mancheter Roadhouse has been booked for July, check Gig News for details. The site has had posters for the Night and Day Bar gig in August 2002 and the recent Life Cafe gig added to the Memorabilia page.

14/03/03 - The band's debut EP is on sale now in HMV, Market Street, Manchester. The EP's tracklisting is: 1-Man Made Souls, 2-Sound Escape, 3-The Thing About The Dawn, 4-The Full Recovery. An image of the cover of this EP is on the Home page of the website.

10/03/03 - Thanks to everyone who showed up for the Life Cafe gig, it was another great turnout for the band, hope everybody enjoyed it. The setlist was: 1-Man Made Souls, 2-The Thing About The Dawn, 3-The Full Recovery, 4-Undead Son. There's now been a further Life Cafe date added to the Gig News section for May so check it out.
